Top 3 tips for future brides:

1. Check out wedding blogs for creative ideas to help cut costs and make your wedding uniquely yours

2. Make spreadsheets for everything from vendor information, budget, seating charts, etc. It helps to keep organized when it comes down to the last couple weeks.

3. Step outside the box and change or add elements to your wedding that will make it representative of you and your groom.

The Best Thing About the Day:The ceremony was incredible! We decided to create our own instead of following a script. It was a blend of different cultures and spiritual practices that all hold a place in our heart. We drew on the traditions that have inspired us... both being raised Catholic, my Native American background, and the eastern spiritual practices that are so a part of who we have become.

What Went Wrong:It was an outdoor reception and ended up being pretty cold later on in the evening. Some people left early as a result and much of the cake did not get eaten. It was a gorgeous cake nevertheless!

Theme:The theme was really US! We knew we wanted bold rich colors and decided to go with deep red, chocolate brown and shades of gold for the ceremony and then for the reception we brought in teal, which is my favorite color, for accents.

Location:We picked the Clark Estate because of the beautiful property it sits on. We knew we wanted an outdoor wedding and there are giant bamboo, old oak trees and fig trees on the property that added a beautiful backdrop.

Menu:We initially decided to go with a Carribean themed menu because our honeymoon was supposed to be in Costa Rica. However, a few months before, we changed the honeymoon destination to Bali, Indonesia but decided to keep with the same food because it was so delicious.

Decor:We had a beautiful bronze arch with hanging red flowers as the backdrop to our ceremony. Down the aisle, she arranged rose petals to form a paisley print. For the reception tables, we had several different sized decorated candle holders filled with colored rocks and rose petals strewn everywhere.
